      Description

      Hi.

in "bugzilla-server-1_2.vmx" file, I think it's better by default to have network card configured as "bridged" in order to get an external IP from DHCP server and to let people from other hosts to login.

We have spent a few hours to discover the reason why we cannot log in from other hosts (because NAT network was used).

The following line has to be set:
      Ethernet0.connectionType = "bridged"

      Regards,
      easyproglife.

        Hello,

Thanks for your suggestion. What if there's no external DHCP (host ip address
is static), or if DHCP server refuses to allocate an IP to unknown mac address?
        Other people will have problems.

We currently make sure that when you start Bugzilla VM, you'll get Bugzilla on
the host computer. We also have some guidelines for those who'd like to use
        Bugzilla VM in production: http://almworks.com/vbs/production.html

I guess we have to add more documentation both on the website and in the
        distribution.

        Cheers,
        Igor

        Hi Igor.

        Thanks for the quick response.

Better and detailed documentation would always be a good idea.

I thought that a note just after the IP address in the startup screen, telling you that you are NATed would also be very helpful.

The note at startup may also tell you briefly how to make the VM visible network-wide.

I think it is important since Bugzilla is intended to serve many users from many hosts.

It will of course improve the user experience that I believe is very important in such a product.
